From a Wix rebuild to the engineering behind an award-winning care platform

The Yuzi Care team brings deep expertise in postnatal care, product management, hospitality, and finance. Web development is not on that list, and it should not have to be. To get moving, they built their own site on Wix. The result fell short on every axis: design, user experience, performance, and cost.

There was no formal way to track visitor behavior or website performance, and leads lived in a patchwork of Gmail, Google Docs, Forms, and Sheets. After an extended stretch of declining activity on the site, the team knew they needed outside help and partnered with us.

A busy founding team should run the business, not the website. We proposed a full-service rebuild that covered design, engineering, branding, and operations in one engagement:

• Replace Wix with a fully custom Next.js site, using server side rendering to cut loading times
• Refresh the brand with new logos, imagery, and consistent colors across every application
• Add a native contact form backed by a secure database for customer information
• Stand up Google Workspace with custom email accounts, signatures, and business profiles
• Wire up Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track behavior and improve SEO
• Purchase and configure a new custom domain, then retire the old Wix site with domain forwarding

Wix templates could not showcase the Yuzi Care brand, and the platform's oversized JavaScript bundles were dragging down every page load. The custom rebuild fixed both at once: a site that finally looks like the company, and code lean enough to load fast on any connection.

Wix carries a high price point for a company of Yuzi's size. Between the premium plan, performance add-ons, analytics, domain, and email accounts, the old stack ran $86 per month. Our custom build brought the total to $25 per month for a faster, fully branded site.

Moving from Wix templates to a server rendered Next.js site also improved Lighthouse performance scores by over 40%. Faster pages mean better search rankings and a better experience for the families Yuzi serves.

The rebuild was the start, not the engagement. As Yuzi grew from an early-stage startup into a company building maternal care infrastructure, we stayed on as their engineering partner, with our founder Harper Foley as the primary engineer behind the platform.

Today Yuzi Care matches families with vetted birth and postpartum providers, including doulas, lactation consultants, newborn care specialists, and nurses, delivered in-home and virtually. The platform serves families directly and powers employer benefits and health-system white-label programs. The product surface we support spans the marketing site, a blog content hub, and the logged-in intake application at app.yuzicare.com, where families share their zip code and due date and get matched with the right providers.

In March 2026, Yuzi won the SXSW Pitch competition in the Enterprise & Future of Work category. The award belongs to the Yuzi team; keeping the platform behind it fast, reliable, and ready to grow is the part we are proud to own.
